MyChart Scam Awareness

Avoiding suspicious messages and safely accessing your account

A phishing scam is targeting patients nationwide using fraudulent emails and text messages that appear to come from MyChart. Your account is safe. If you're ever unsure about a message, you can call your provider's office or our MyChart patient support team at 833-AHCHART or 833-242-4278.

MyChart scam awareness

The guidance below will help you avoid suspicious messages and securely access your health information.

How can I securely access MyChart?

You should only access MyChart through official Adventist Health channels, including AdventistHealth/MyChart and the official MyChart mobile app.

The official website of the Adventist Health MyChart portal is: https://mychart.adventisthealth.org/

Will Adventist Health be proactively reaching out to patients about MyChart through text and email?

Yes, Adventist Health does send legitimate MyChart communications, including activation emails and text messages, appointment reminders, and care-related notifications.

What signs of suspicious activity should I be aware of?

Be cautious of unsolicited offers, especially those promising free products, gift packages, wellness kits, or Medicare-related benefits.

Verify the sender before opening links or attachments. Misspellings, unusual email addresses, grammatical errors, and urgent requests are common signs of phishing (scam) attempts.

What are some ways I can protect my information?

Never share passwords, verification codes, banking information, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information in response to an unexpected email or text.

Can I access my health information without clicking on email or text links?

Yes, if you’re uncertain about a message you can visit AdventistHealth.org/MyChart directly rather than clicking links in the message. You’ll see notifications within the platform after logging in.

What should I do if I have additional security concerns?

If you believe your MyChart account may have been compromised or if you have concerns about account security, you may contact the Adventist Health MyChart Patient Support Team at 833-AHCHART or 833-242-4278

Epic, the electronic health record used by Adventist Health, also has information about protecting yourself from MyChart scams and fraud on their website.
