Helpful information about enrolling in MyChart

MyChart is easy to sign up for and easy to use. The information below can help you learn more about the enrollment process.

How do I sign up?

There are several different methods to sign up for MyChart:

  • You may receive a text message or email with an activation code when you come in for a visit.
  • You are able to use self-signup online to create a MyChart account by matching your information against what is on file in your medical record or with third-party identity verification.
  • Clinic staff might sign you up directly while you're at the front desk or in the exam room.
  • You might receive a MyChart activation code on your After Visit Summary or on a billing statement.

Who can create a MyChart account?

All patients aged 12 years and above are eligible to activate and maintain a MyChart account.

Is there a fee to use MyChart?

No, MyChart is a free service for all patients.

What do I need to use MyChart?

You need access to a computer or mobile device connected to the internet and an up-to-date browser (such as Edge, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari). You can also use the MyChart mobile app on a mobile device.

How is MyChart secure?

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal usernames, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account must be accessed using that password. On mobile, the account may also be accessed using Face ID or fingerprint login. You can also log in using a passkey, which securely verifies your identity using your device's built-in features, such as Face ID, fingerprint, or a PIN — without needing to enter a password or code each time.

Two-step verification is built in to help keep your account secure. When you log in to MyChart, you'll enter a code that's sent to you by email, text message, or an authenticator app, in addition to using your username and password. This quick extra step helps make sure it's really you signing in and keeps your health information safe even if someone else knows your password. For more information, check out this helpful video on two-step verification

You might receive email or text notifications that contain links to MyChart. These notifications allow you to log in to MyChart securely using a link that expires after a short time. Keeping your MyChart account secure means keeping your phone number and email account secure. If you think that your phone number or email account may be compromised, you can change the phone number or email account on file on the Personal Information page in MyChart.

I already have a MyChart account at a different health organization. Am I able to link them together?

If you've been seen at another healthcare organization, you might be able to view information from that medical record right in MyChart. You might have heard of this feature referred to as Happy Together. This includes information from other organizations, such as:

  • Allergies
  • Care team
  • Health issues
  • Medications
  • Messages
  • Test results
  • Visits

To view this information, you are able to link your accounts after August 30, 2026.

What will happen to my medical records that are in a different electronic health record through Adventist Health?

Most medical records will be transferred to MyChart. Patients will still be able to access your historical data via legacy portals. Patients that have these portals will receive additional information.

The following legacy patient portals may contain information that will not be transferred to MyChart:

  • FollowMyHealth for Adventist Health Tulare
  • Selma Imaging Patient Portal for Adventist Health Selma
  • Elations Passport for Adventist Health Castle
  • Athena Patient Portal for Adventist Health Sierra Vista and Adventist Health Twin Cities
  • Templeton Imaging Patient Portal for Adventist Health Twin Cities

Can I view, download, or send medical records?

Yes, you can conveniently access your medical records in MyChart’s Sharing Hub. There, you can view, download, or share your medical records with another provider, family member, close friend or caretaker.

What should I do if some of my information in MyChart is incorrect?

Your MyChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record at your provider's office. Ask your provider to correct any inaccurate information during your next clinic visit. Your health information is reviewed and updated in your electronic medical record after each visit.

How do I manage my MyChart notifications?

You can choose to receive updates by email or text. To manage, adjust your notification settings in your MyChart account. These messages will never include personal health information.

Can I view a family member's medical record in MyChart?

Yes, you can. MyChart proxy access allows you to access the medical records of your family members and others you care for, with their permission. You must be at least 18 years old to have proxy access to another person's medical record.

You might also want to grant a family member or friend access to your medical records when you need assistance managing your appointments and other medical needs. To give someone access to your medical record, grant access via a proxy invite through the Friends and Family Access page in MyChart.
