Residency Programs
Curriculum
We offer a one-year fellowship accredited by ACGME and designed to offer the fellow clinical experience and expertise in the recognition and management of athletic injuries. Throughout the year, fellows will work alongside multiple Primary Care Sports Medicine faculty, gaining broad exposure to sports medicine including injury prevention, evaluation and diagnosis of injury/illnesses, restoration of function through rehabilitation and other nonsurgical methods, and the role of a Team Physician. The program is designed with the goal to develop clinical acumen for orthopedics, academic experience with research and medical education, and leadership development.

Research
Fellows are expected to complete a research project that can be considered for publication in peer reviewed journals and for presentation at national meetings.
Fellows have the option to select a research project that specifically interest them or to choose from a master list of available projects; however, all projects must be approved by the Sports Medicine Research Committee. Time guidelines for projects will be distributed and must be strictly adhered to for projects to be completed by year’s end. Early in the Fellowship Year the Sports Medicine Research Committee will meet with the Fellows and distribute a list of projects from which Fellows can choose their research. Fellows can also pursue their own original ideas. Research meetings will be held monthly. Fellows will be expected to give a presentation updating their projects at each meeting.
