Comfortable rooms with compassionate care
Our large, private delivery rooms offer a comfortable, peaceful space for you to prepare for your birth. A variety of in-room features, from lighting to music, can be adjusted to your preferences. Our experienced and licensed staff will support your comfort and help ease any pain from contractions, while ensuring the safety of you, and your child throughout your labor.
Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
Adventist Health White Memorial has a level III NICU which provides expert specialized care for both premature and term newborns with advanced medical care needs. Our NICU is staffed by physicians and nurses who are specially trained in neonatal intensive care, and is fully equipped with the latest technologies to support them. Should your newborn need intensive care, you can rest assured knowing your baby is receiving the highest level of care in the same hospital as you.
Free transportation assistance
We know getting to and from the hospital isn’t always easy for some people. That’s why we offer a free shuttle service within a seven-mile radius of the hospital, from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. Our courteous drivers will pick you up and drive you home, so you never have to miss an appointment or your special delivery.
If you require transportation for appointments or the day of your delivery, please call 323-260-5850.
Should you live beyond the seven-mile radius or need transportation after hours, you may request an accommodation in advance with our manager of patient van transportation services, by emailing Loeraa@ah.org, calling 323-268-5000 x19966, or by mail at:
1720 East Cesar East Chavez Avenue, Dept. 8430
Los Angeles, CA, 90033.
Medi-Cal coverage support
Through our patient financial services department, we provide families assistance in obtaining health coverage through Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, Access for Infants, and Mothers (AIM), and Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC).
Community members can speak with bilingual Medi-Cal eligibility liaisons who are certified to qualify patients for Medi-Cal, saving time, and streamlining the traditional qualification process. The staff is also state-certified to assist enrollments into the Healthy Families program, AIM, and AFDC.
OB physicians at Adventist Health White Memorial can also assist their patients in applying for Medi-Cal. Check with their office when making an appointment.

A Baby-Friendly® USA hospital
We’re proud to be designated as a Baby-Friendly® hospital by Baby Friendly USA. This means we have met the highest standards for promoting mother/baby care practices related to infant feeding. As part of earning this honor, our staff is trained in breastfeeding, and we allow babies to stay close to their mothers right after birth so they can breastfeed as soon as possible.
