Welcoming a new baby is a life-changing experience. We know how important this moment is to you, and it’s just as important to us. Our experienced team provides personalized maternity care in a supportive environment so the birth of your child can become a cherished memory.

Expert care for every step of your family’s journey

Our team of obstetricians, pediatricians, licensed nurses, and highly trained support staff work together to care for your physical, emotional and spiritual needs throughout your childbirth experience. When you are ready to go home, we will ensure you have the knowledge and confidence to give your baby a healthy, happy start.

Preparing for childbirth

It’s natural to feel anxious about the big day, but being prepared can put you at ease. We offer free, four-week classes for expecting mothers to learn the basics of labor and delivery, postpartum, infant care, and breastfeeding. Any expecting mother 24 or more weeks pregnant and their support person are invited to attend.

Call us at 209-536-3260 for more information and to register.

Personalized care during your stay

We believe that every birth experience is as special and unique as each new baby, mother, and family. We are passionate about providing a warm, personalized experience to support you throughout labor and delivery. From monitored walking to specialized positioning and birthing balls to on-call anesthesiologists for epidurals, we have a range of options to care for you.

Our Birth Center was designed with your comfort in mind. Private birthing suites feature tranquil views of the Sierra foothills, in-room hydrotherapy, and sleeping accommodations for your support person.

Once your baby arrives, our team will provide ongoing care and attention whether your baby is with you or in the nursery.

Bringing your new baby home

When it's time to take your baby home, we want you to feel ready. Our complete education program, provided by a team of multidisciplinary professionals — including social services, nutritional specialists, and spiritual care providers — will share the information you need to take care of your baby and yourself at home.

Lactation support

As a Baby-Friendly Hospital, designated by Baby-Friendly USA, we believe that breastfeeding is the best option for every infant, when possible. We also know that support and education are important to a successful breastfeeding experience. Our nurses have all received training in breastfeeding support and lactation consultants are available for further assistance.
