Adventist Health Glendale Achieves 21st Consecutive "A" for Hospital Safety, Outperforming Local Competitors
May 2, 2025
Adventist Health Glendale has earned an "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit organization focused on patient safety. The Leapfrog Group assigns grades (A, B, C, D, or F) to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures related to errors, accidents, injuries, infections, and the systems that hospitals have in place to prevent such incidents.
This latest rating marks Adventist Health Glendale's 21st consecutive "A," a significant achievement that only 41 other hospitals nationwide have reached. "Earning straight 'A's in every grading cycle over the past decade reflects our unwavering commitment to making Adventist Health Glendale a safe, caring, and reliable destination for world-class care," expressed Alice Issai, President of the Adventist Health Glendale and Simi Valley Service Area.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital rating program that focuses exclusively on preventable medical errors and infections in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and available for free to the public. Grades are updated twice a year, in the fall and spring.
"Achieving an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade demonstrates a tremendous dedication to patient safety," remarked Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "I extend my congratulations to Adventist Health Glendale, its leadership, clinicians, staff, and volunteers for fostering a culture where patients come first."
Among the 286 California hospitals evaluated during the Spring 2025 cycle, fewer than 45% received an "A" rating. No other hospitals in the areas of Glendale, La Cañada, Burbank, Pasadena, or Eagle Rock currently hold an "A" rating. In contrast, Adventist Health Glendale has maintained an "A" rating in every grading cycle since 2015.
Adventist Health Glendale celebrates this milestone and is committed to prioritizing patient safety, fostering trust, and delivering the safest possible care.
