Spiritual Care
A faith-based approach to care
Hospitalization can bring feelings of fear and vulnerability for both patients and their loved ones. As a faith-based care provider, we offer the spiritual support you may need to cope with these emotional challenges. Between our compassionate chaplains, spiritual care volunteers, and peaceful chapel, we'll help you connect with the hope, comfort and peace of mind that’s rooted in your spirituality.
Our spiritual services and resources
Adventist Health Clear Lake offers several ways for you and your loved ones to find the spiritual support you need.
Chaplain visits
Our chaplains are dedicated to supporting you and your loved ones through challenging times by providing in-room visits. No matter what your religious background or denomination, our chaplains can be helpful when you:
- Need someone to listen to your fears or concerns, and console you
- Want someone to pray with you
- Are grieving the loss of a loved one
- Need help connecting with someone from your faith tradition
- Are making decisions following a life-altering event (palliative care)
- Are making decisions about end-of-life care (hospice)
Our chaplains are available for in-room visits Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Visits can be scheduled by calling the chaplain’s office at 707-995-5838
After 12:30 p.m. and on weekends, a chaplain is on call for emergency assistance. For an emergency visit, please call our main switchboard at 707-994-6486
Spiritual care volunteers
In addition to our chaplains, we have volunteers who are specially trained to provide spiritual guidance or a listening ear to those of all faiths. Our volunteers provide chaplaincy services with compassion and concern for each patient’s health and spiritual journey.
