Expert care for life-threatening emergencies
Some of the symptoms and conditions we assess and treat include:
Specialized services
When it comes to emergency medical care, having access to the right resources and services can be lifesaving. At Adventist Health Ukiah Valley, we are the only hospital in the region to offer two key life-saving services.
Trauma center
Traumatic injuries, often caused by a fall, accident, or other external factors, can be life-threatening. So, having immediate access to the appropriate level of care is critical. Fortunately, Adventist Health Ukiah Valley has a designated level IV trauma center, which means we have the expertise and equipment to provide rapid evaluation and stabilization to patients suffering from trauma, with transfer to a higher level of care when necessary.
Our trauma care begins by making sure patients receive attention within those first critical minutes to prevent death and preserve brain function. Our care continues with the deployment of a team that’s specially skilled in treating trauma. Our team includes board-certified specialists in emergency medicine, anesthesiology, trauma surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, nursing, radiology, intensive care, respiratory therapy, and physical rehabilitation, all working together using proven treatment protocols with state and national guidelines.
Primary stroke center
Stroke is the leading cause of disability in the country, that’s why early diagnosis and intervention are important. At Adventist Health Ukiah Valley we are proud to be the only accredited Primary Stroke Center serving Mendocino and Lake Counties. Awarded by the Joint Commission, in conjunction with The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, this designation recognizes that our team meets the standards to support better outcomes for stroke care.
