Prevention and early detection

Healthy habits can help prevent cancer, and regular screenings help find it early when it's easier to treat. At Adventist Health Ukiah Valley, our primary care physicians guide you on ways to minimize your risk of cancer, while also setting up important screenings based on your age, family history, and other factors.

We offer the most advanced screening and diagnostic tools, including:

  • Imaging services such as 3D mammography
  • PSA tests and other diagnostic tests
  • Hereditary cancer screening
  • Cancer staging for determining the extent of the cancer and best course of treatment

Expert team, compassionate care

Our cancer care team includes highly trained and experienced oncologists, radiation therapists, nurses, a breast health navigator, and other support staff. Utilizing the latest technologies and procedures, we provide the highest standards of care and do everything in our power to help you persevere. We’re with you from the moment you receive your diagnosis and closely monitor all phases of your treatment in order mitigate any side effects and make adjustments.

Whole-person care and support

One of the hallmarks of Adventist Health is our whole person care. This means we care for not only your physical well-being but your mental, emotional, and spiritual needs as well. Nowhere is this more evident than with our cancer care.

We treat you with the utmost compassion, dignity, and support every step of the way. We welcome your family members and friends to be by your side whenever possible and integrate them into your care team to provide the strength and encouragement that only loved ones can.

We also give you access to a host of support resources, from our spiritual care team, breast health navigator, and art therapy. We’ll stay with you after treatment to monitor your health and help you transition to post-treatment life.
