The birth of a child is nothing short of a miracle, and you deserve the best place to make your miracle happen. At Adventist Health Tillamook’s Family Birth Place, our team, birthing suites and level of care combine to ensure a safe, comfortable, and memorable experience. From managing your labor through loving your newborn baby, we’re dedicated to supporting you every step of the way.

Everything you need to feel calm and reassured

Our Family Birth Place is designed to meet all your needs from labor and delivery through postpartum support.

Comfortable birthing suites

Our Family Birth Place has four warmly decorated maternity suites that feel more like master bedrooms than hospital rooms. Each suite is designed for optimal comfort and privacy during your labor, delivery, and recovery without the need to change rooms. Our suites also include various comforts of home, such as a Jacuzzi bath and cable television.

Welcoming family and friends

We realize the birth of a child is often a family affair. So, each suite includes a soft leather recliner so your birthing partner can be with you anytime. Our nearby waiting room welcomes your family and friends. Visiting and feeding hours are entirely up to you and the baby. We encourage short visits between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Supporting labor and delivery

We offer dedicated, one-on-one support with a personal nurse in your private room, guiding you through every step of your labor and delivery journey. Our highly trained staff specialize in alternative labor techniques and provide compassionate, encouraging coaching for both you and your birth partner. From assisted walking and specialized positioning to birthing balls and on-call anesthesiologists for epidural support, we’re here to ensure you have the care and options you need for a positive and empowering birth experience.

Neonatal intensive care

Most babies are born healthy, but sometimes a newborn starts life with special needs. Adventist Health Tillamook has registered nurses certified in neonatal care. For babies requiring advanced care, our TeleNICU neonatologist team is available 24/7 to guide care, monitor, or, if needed, carefully guide the transfer of your baby to the closest neonatal intensive care facility in our area.

Postpartum support

We provide the support and TLC many moms need after discharge. To ensure a safe first week after the birth of all newborns, we offer a follow-up appointment 48 hours after discharge. This follow-up visit allows the nursing staff to screen and assess your baby for things such as eating problems, breastfeeding issues, and jaundice. This visit also provides time for you to ask additional questions about you or your baby's care. The nursing staff will facilitate referrals for any identified concerns.
