Please call ahead to confirm current guidelines or if you have any questions.

Visitor guidelines to support a healing environment

Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Family members and friends are welcome to visit. However, patient care is our primary concern, and to enhance our quality of care, visiting, and general guidelines for visitors are listed below:

  • Visitors with symptoms of illness should refrain from visiting.
  • Please wear appropriate attire, including shirts and shoes.
  • Smoking is not permitted on hospital grounds.
  • Visits should be brief to support patient rest and healing.
  • Help us maintain a quiet, calm space for patients.
  • Visitors may be asked to step out when medical staff attend to the patient.
  • Patient information is shared only with designated family members by the physician.
  • Specially designated lounge areas or waiting rooms are available for visitor comfort.

Guidelines for support person visitors

Patients with disabilities can have a trusted support person present with them at our hospital. This may include family members, friends, or personal care assistants (paid or unpaid) who can assist with communication, healthcare decisions, or daily tasks. A disability may include physical, intellectual, behavioral or cognitive impairment, deafness, hard of hearing or other communication barriers, blindness, autism, or dementia. You can always have one support person with you:

  • In the emergency department.
  • During your hospital stay, if you need them to help with your care.
  • When discussing or making decisions regarding hospice care.
  • When discussing or completing advance directive forms or a POLST (Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment).
