Preventative care and diagnosis

The first step in supporting you is preventing cancer or detecting it early enough for successful treatment. That’s why we offer the following screening and imaging services:

  • Advanced imaging that enables precise detection of even the smallest tumors. Imaging is non-invasive or minimally invasive. Some examples include 3D mammography, MRIs, PET/CT scans, molecular imaging, radiomics, and endoscopies.
  • Lab tests to detect or indicate the possibility of cancer.
  • Cancer staging, which uses a scoring system to indicate the size, location, and extent of your cancer to help guide treatment decisions.

A team of cancer care experts

You can rest assured knowing you’re getting care from highly qualified cancer specialists with reputations and experience that rival those of physicians in academic medical centers. Our cancer care specialists work together with one mission: to help you fight cancer and win. In addition to our expert physicians, your team includes:

  • Registered dietician
  • Research and clinical trials coordinator
  • Manager of psychosocial services (care manager)
  • Clinic director
  • Oncology certified nurses
  • Radiation therapists

Tumor board

Treatment plans and diagnoses are reviewed by a board of leading oncology specialists from the region, who may consult with your oncologist on treatment recommendations.

Clinical trials

Clinical trials are research studies on new developing cancer treatments. In some cases, patients may opt to be part of the study to see if the treatment helps them. Together with our medical director, our clinical trials team connects our patients to the appropriate clinical trials, and monitors the protocols and regulatory aspects of the trial. Learn more about our clinical trials by calling 707-967-3698 or email AHSHClinicalResearch@ah.org.

Financial support

Financial concerns can be an extra stressor during treatment. Our financial services coordinator can explain your bills, interact with health insurance companies on your behalf, and connect you to financial resources that can help you manage your co-payments.
