A full range of support and resources

Dealing with cancer can be stressful and confusing, but you’ll have an incredible team in your corner, ready to help you with everything from understanding your diagnosis and deciding on the right treatment to managing your appointments, getting financial assistance, and finding emotional support.

Nurse navigator

Your oncology nurse navigator serves as your primary liaison for a range of information and support, including help with:

  • Managing appointments and obtaining referrals
  • Understanding our process and your treatment options
  • Ensuring strong communication across your care team so that each facet of your treatment plan is well-coordinated and in line with your goals and preferences

Tumor board and other care support

To help you and your oncologist make the best-informed decisions, we have a multidisciplinary team of specialists in medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, general surgery, and internal medicine who meet weekly to review more complex cases and collaborate on recommendations for treatment. Physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other staff review more routine cases to ensure the best possible, whole-person care.

Emotional support

A cancer diagnosis and the ensuing treatment can cause feelings of vulnerability, fear, and despair in both patients and their loved ones. Addressing and coping with these emotions is an important component of cancer treatment. That’s why we offer a range of emotional support services including a dedicated social worker, support groups, and palliative care. We also partner with many local providers to offer beneficial therapies such as acupuncture, massage, and Reiki.

Financial support

The cost of cancer treatment can put a lot of pressure on you and your financial security. Our Cancer Patient Support Fund may be available to relieve some of the financial burden and allow you to focus on your health.

Technology and treatment

Advanced diagnostics

From imaging to genetic testing, we offer the most advanced technology for prevention, early detection, and accurate diagnoses, including 3D mammography, and MRIs.

Minimally invasive surgery

Your specialists may recommend surgery to diagnose or treat your cancer. We offer a full range of surgical options, either locally or in collaboration with nearby tertiary centers. Whenever possible, we use minimally invasive procedures to speed healing and recovery. Our da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System allows for complex operations to be performed through tiny incisions and enables a higher level of visibility and maneuverability for optimal precision.

Chemotherapy and immunotherapy

We provide the most advanced chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment in our comfortable 14-chair infusion center with tranquil views across the Sierra foothills. Our low nurse-to-patient ratio creates opportunities to build supportive and encouraging relationships. Whether we’re prescribing medication or praying with you during your appointments, we provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support throughout your healing process.

Radiation therapy

Our linear accelerator targets tumors with precision using beams of radiation. It’s the same technology you’ll find at large urban cancer centers but with the convenience of being close to home. This state-of-the-art equipment is a tremendous asset for our rural community, especially since some patients undergo radiation therapy as much as five days per week over the course of several weeks.
