Teen volunteer program

Our teen volunteer program offers high school students an opportunity to explore a future career in healthcare while making new friends and enjoying the satisfaction that comes from helping those in need.

Teen volunteers also earn eligibility for a scholarship upon high school graduation for the pursuit of a healthcare career and a letter of hours and volunteering for college applications. Teen volunteers must be enrolled high school students, 14 to 18 years of age, and able to commit two hours of service per week for at least one year.

To become a teen volunteer, complete the following steps:

  • Step 1: Complete and submit an online application.
  • Step 2: Obtain two personal references, using our personal reference forms.
  • Step 3: Have your parent or guardian sign the parental approval form.
  • Step 4: Complete the high school counselor checklist or submit your most recent report card (for applications during summer break only).
  • Step 5: Email completed personal reference forms to Mario DeLise at DeLiseMJ@ah.org. Note: Your application will not be processed until personal reference forms have been submitted.
  • Step 6: Once your application is complete, you will be notified of your placement on the waiting list. When you reach the top of the list, someone will contact you to set up an interview.

Volunteer Impact

Made for more giving back

Our volunteers give thousands of hours of their time every year in service to our patients and community. They also raise thousands of dollars through sales at the hospital gift shop to purchase new equipment, fund scholarships, and support hospital programs.
