About Us

Patient and Family Advisory Council

Improving the patient and family experience

As part of our commitment to high-quality care and community wellness, our Patient and Family Advisory Council brings together members of the community and our healthcare team to discuss ways we can improve the patient and family experience.  This group of up to 12 community members meets quarterly and has the power to affect the lives of thousands of patients. Community members who have experienced Adventist Health Sonora as a patient or a patient’s family member within the last 12 months are welcome to join.

A small group with a big impact

Our council members ensure the community’s point of view is not only heard but integrated into our service and quality improvements. The council meets once per quarter at Adventist Health Sonora, where members take an active role in advancing the healthcare experience for our community by:

  • Providing feedback on quality of care
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Offering insights on service to patients and families
  • Commenting on our community involvement
  • Discussing health plan relationships
  • Suggesting new services and programs
