Curriculum
Our Internal Medicine Residency program is 36 months block rotation and follows a 6+2 model. The residents spend 6 weeks on inpatient rotations and electives, followed by 2 weeks in the ambulatory setting. This ensures residents receive the highest-quality education in every setting.

Internal medicine residency curriculum
I. PGY-1 Year (Internship)
The first year is centered on building a strong foundation in differential diagnosis and clinical problem-solving skills.
- PGY-1 residents hone their skills in history-taking, physical exams, and patient management in inpatient and outpatient settings
- They gain proficiency in basic procedural techniques and care for a wide range of patients
- By the end of the year, residents are prepared to oversee patient care independently
- Protected time is provided for participation in scholarly projects
- Introduction to ultrasound begins during this year
- Rotations: General medical wards, ICU, night float, electives, and ambulatory care (6+2 model)
II. PGY-2 and PGY-3 Years (Senior Residency)
The focus in the second and third years shifts toward advanced training in internal medicine, outpatient care, subspecialties, medical consultation, and procedural mastery.
- Residents have a broad array of elective options across all medical specialties
- Senior residents may opt for an elective rotation at an external institution during their second or third year
- The program allows flexibility in designing a curriculum tailored to career goals, whether in primary care or a chosen subspecialty
- Rotations: General medicine wards, ICU, consult service, admitting resident, night float, electives, and ambulatory care (6+2 model)
