Announcing Our Second Visiting Artist Series: Celebrating Global Perspectives
Deadline for Submissions: November 15
Adventist Health Portland is proud to announce the launch of its second Visiting Artist Series, an initiative dedicated to celebrating global perspectives through the power of art. This year’s theme invites artists to share how their work reflects the interconnectedness of cultures, traditions, and experiences across the world.
Local artists of all backgrounds and mediums are encouraged to submit their work by November 15 for consideration. The Visiting Artist Series aims to create a healing environment for patients, families, and caregivers while honoring the voices of artists whose creativity reflects our community’s place within a global story. Submissions are welcome in all artistic mediums, including paintings, drawings, photography, sculptures, digital prints, and mixed media that explore themes of culture, identity, and connection.
“Art has the power to cross borders and build bridges,” said Terry Johnsson, Mission Integration Executive at Adventist Health Portland. “By bringing global perspectives into our hospital, we not only celebrate diversity, but also remind each other that healing and hope are universal experiences.”
Selected artworks will be displayed in a high-traffic area of the hospital, accompanied by information about each artist and a sale price if the artist chooses to make their work available for purchase. This ensures their creativity receives both visibility and recognition. In addition, Adventist Health Portland will host an artist reception at the beginning of the exhibition to honor and connect with the contributing artists.
