Adventist Health Columbia Gorge Closes Occupational Health Clinic
Adventist Health Columbia Gorge has announced its Occupational Health Clinic will close Feb. 28, 2025, as part of strategic initiatives to ensure the future of core healthcare services in The Dalles, Oregon, and surrounding communities.
“As the healthcare landscape continues to shift, healthcare systems have had to make tough choices, often prioritizing resources and implementing cost-cutting measures, particularly in rural areas,” explains Jayme Thompson, RN, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge administrator. “Because I was born and raised in this area and have been engrained in the organization for more than 20 years, I am deeply committed to protecting our community by ensuring we can sustain the most vital services for a long future.”
The Occupational Health Clinic has been a trusted partner for many local businesses and their employees, with care provided by Jayant Eldurkar, MD. “It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be the occupational medicine provider for many companies and their employees,” says Dr. Eldurkar, who will continue to serve as Adventist Health Columbia Gorge’s medical officer.
Going forward, insurers and employers will refer patients to their preferred providers. Patients who are established with Adventist Health Columbia Gorge primary care clinics can also seek care from their primary care provider.
The Occupational Health Clinic is separate from occupational therapy, which continues to serve patients as part of Rehabilitation Services.
