Minimally invasive robotic surgery
Our robotic surgery program provides our surgeons and patients with alternatives to both traditional open surgery and conventional laparoscopy. In fact, robotic surgery has become the gold standard for many types of surgery due to its highly controlled precision and visualization, plus patient benefits such as faster recovery time, and less post-surgical pain.
The da Vinci Xi Surgical System
We’re proud to offer the da Vinci Xi Surgical System, widely considered to be the most advanced and effective robotic technology platform for many types of surgery.
With this minimally invasive approach, the surgeon sits at a console close to the patient and controls small instruments and a tube-like camera inserted into the patient’s body through small incisions. The camera provides unmatched 3D visualization of the surgical site and organs, magnified ten times beyond what the human eye can see. The system then translates the surgeon’s hand movements into corresponding micro-movements of the surgical instruments. Unlike laparoscopic surgery that can limit the surgeon’s hand movements, the da Vinci system allows for a greater range of motion.
All of these advances enable surgeons to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through tiny incisions with greater control, dexterity, and precision. The da Vinci system is versatile for procedures as wide-ranging as gallbladder, kidney stones, and bladder issues to infertility, and cancer treatment.
