Ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all

Adventist Health Mendocino Coast takes pride in offering a welcoming, safe, and healing environment. For the safety, security, and wellness of our patients, staff and visitors, we kindly ask that you adhere to our policies and procedures.

Visiting hours and policies

We welcome visitors to comfort our patients and help them in their healing journey. You may visit a patient in the hospital 24 hours a day. From 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, you can access the hospital through the main entrance. At other times, you may access the hospital through the emergency room entrance. Visitors must abide by the following policies for the safety of our patients.

  • If you are sick, please stay home for the safety of our patients and staff.
  • Ensure that your loved one is ready to receive visitors. If you are unsure, call beforehand, and clear your visit with the staff at 707-961-4640. When you arrive, check in with the front desk staff to alert the staff that you are there.
  • Honor visitation hours and policies, especially in the ICU unit. Your loved one’s nurse can help guide you to what those are based on their condition.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water before entering a patient room and use hand sanitizer. Sanitizing stations are throughout the hospital. Many patients are immune compromised from illness, injury, or surgery, and need a germ-free environment.
  • Please do not bring plants, flowers, or latex balloons to the ICU unit. Plants and flowers can contain mold spores and can trigger allergies in patients on the unit. Latex balloons can also trigger common latex allergies.

Health and safety guidelines

To protect our patients and yourself against infection, please follow these guidelines and policies.

Masking and other safeguards

Masking is optional for patients and visitors but is strongly recommended in all patient care areas. Masks are available at our main entrances. Individuals who are considered high risk (or live with some who is) should continue to wear masks in our hospital.

If a patient is in isolation, visitors are required to comply with our isolation procedures or will have their visiting privileges revoked.
