Visitor Information
Ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all
At Adventist Health, we recognize the vital role that family members and caregivers play in helping our patients heal, both physically and emotionally. That’s why we welcome visitors up to 24 hours a day and are committed to creating an environment where patients and families can be together safely. To ensure the well-being of our patients, staff, and other visitors, we kindly ask that you follow our visitation policies and procedures.
Visitation hours and policies
For the safety of our patients, staff, and other visitors, please abide by the following:
Specialty care visitation policies
Certain departments have their own unique policies. Learn more below.
ICU
Up to two visitors with the appropriate pass may be in the patient’s room at any given time. Visitors may wait in the ICU waiting room if the nurse asks them to step out for any reason.
Isolation
Adults may visit after having checked in at the nurse's station for special instructions. Children 13-17 may visit at the discretion of the department leader. Children under 13 are not allowed in isolation rooms at any time.
Pediatric
Parents may visit at any time with the appropriate pass. One parent or designated adult may stay at bedside during the night. Underage siblings are not permitted to stay through the night.
Surgical short stay
Two visitors with the appropriate pass may be with the patient before surgery and afterwards when the recovery nurse determines the patient is stable enough to receive visitors. Visitors may wait in the appropriate lobby during the procedure.
Emergency department
As space permits, up to two visitors may accompany the patient into the treatment areas with the permission of a nurse leader.
Family Birthing Center
Visitation may be allowed 24 hours a day, depending on the condition of the patient and the wishes of the patient and physician. Each visitor must have an appropriate pass. Siblings must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
