Other Ways to Give
Start making your own impact
There are many ways to give back to Adventist Health, both now and in the future.
Make your impact
Let us help you find the best way to start making your own impact — from honoring a loved one with your donation, to setting up a planned gift, to getting your company involved.
Outright gifts
Most donors who pledge support to the Adventist Health Central California Foundation fulfill their commitments with annual pledge payments of cash or marketable securities.
Gifts of stocks and securities
There are distinct tax advantages to considering gifts of appreciated securities such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Donors do not incur capital gains tax on appreciated securities given for charitable purposes and the full value qualifies for a charitable tax deduction.
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD from an IRA)
Donors age 70 1⁄2 and older can make a direct transfer of up to $108,000 per spouse (as of January 2025) from an individual IRA to Adventist Health. The gift is credited against the required minimum distribution; it is not taxable or deductible.
Donor Advised Fund
A grant recommendation from your Donor Advised Fund is a wonderful way to put previously designated charitable funds to use for the health of our community. Contact us to discuss options for using grant recommendations from your DAF as part of a multi-year gift strategy.
Real estate
A gift of real estate or undivided partial interest that has appreciated in value can be an attractive option when considering a major charitable contribution. Contact our team of philanthropy professionals to facilitate the donation of real estate.
Life insurance
The use of life insurance policies for charitable giving is another option when planning a major contribution. In order to qualify for the charitable deduction, the donor must relinquish all incidents of ownership in the policy by irrevocably designating Adventist Health Central California Foundation as owner and beneficiary.
Planned giving
For those who wish to make a significant contribution to the Adventist Health Central California Foundation, but also want to either defer the gift or retain an income from the assets contributed, a planned gift may be considered.
Charitable gift planning can also play a role in an individual’s overall estate planning. There are a variety of ways in which donors may support our work.
In-kind gift
Donate goods, services, and experiences to benefit the Adventist Health Central California Foundation.
