Aaron Harris Named 2025 EMS Provider of the Year

In celebration of National EMS Week, observed May 18–24, Adventist Health Tillamook honors their associate Aaron Harris, Emergency Medical Technician, as the 2025 EMS Provider of the Year. This annual recognition celebrates excellence in emergency medical care and highlights the dedication and compassion of EMS professionals who respond to critical moments in our community every day.

Aaron joined Adventist Health Tillamook’s ambulance service in November 2023 as an ambulance driver. Within months, he earned his EMT certification and began serving as a field EMT in July 2024. Since then, Aaron has distinguished himself through his teamwork, enthusiasm, and exceptional patient care. One colleague shared, “Aaron lives the mission of inspiring health by having spent a career helping others — first in the Coast Guard, and now with us. He works a full-time-plus schedule to assist others while maintaining work-life balance and pursuing his goal of becoming a fishing guide.” Another added, “His enthusiasm for EMS is so fun to watch... he’s going to do great in medic school.”

“Aaron embodies what it means to lead with purpose, humility, and heart,” said Eric Swanson, President of Adventist Health Tillamook. “His passion for learning and his commitment to the community inspire everyone around him. We are proud to have him on our team, and we’re excited to support him as he begins paramedic school in 2026.” Aaron has quickly become one of the most requested partners among paramedics and is admired for his curiosity, calm under pressure, and eagerness to grow. His peers consistently praise his dependability, compassion, and collaborative spirit.

This year's EMS Week theme, "WE CARE. FOR EVERYONE." reflects the essential and inclusive nature of emergency medical services. From rural highways to family homes, EMS professionals play a vital role in delivering lifesaving care wherever and whenever it’s needed. Adventist Health Tillamook extends heartfelt gratitude to every member of its EMS team for their courage, expertise, and unwavering dedication to the community.
