Celebrating a Year of Innovation in Heart Care

This year has been an extraordinary one for our Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) at Adventist Health Simi Valley. Behind the scenes, our physicians, nurses, and techs are performing highly specialized procedures that are changing — and saving — lives right here in our community.

Highlights from 2025 include:

  • First TCAR (TransCarotid Artery Revascularization) and EVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair) procedures – Advanced, minimally invasive options to treat patients with carotid artery disease and dangerous aortic aneurysms, reducing recovery time and risks compared to open surgery.
  • Impella® heart pump success stories – Two patients in severe heart failure were supported with this tiny heart pump, giving their hearts time to rest and heal so they could return home to their families.
  • Embolizations and coiling – State-of-the-art techniques used to block abnormal blood flow or repair weakened blood vessels without the need for open surgery.
  • STEMI Gold Award – National recognition for excellence in rapid, evidence-based heart attack care. A “STEMI” is the most severe type of heart attack, and Adventist Health Simi Valley is the only hospital in Ventura County to earn this honor.
  • Introducing Varipulse™ Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) – A cutting-edge, energy-based treatment for atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm) that is safer and more precise than traditional methods. Adventist Health Simi Valley is among the first hospitals in the region to offer this breakthrough technology.

These achievements reflect not just advanced technical expertise, but the teamwork, compassion, and dedication of our Cath Lab team. We are proud to bring world-class heart care close to home and grateful to serve the patients and families of Ventura County.

Please join us in celebrating their incredible contributions!
