DAISY Recipient: Scott Hasian
Department: CVICU
Nominated by: Patient, Tory Y.
Tory Y: “I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible care I received during my recent hospital stay. Scott, in particular, went above and beyond in every aspect of his role as a nurse. His dedication, knowledge, and compassion truly made a lasting impact on me.
Scott not only took the time to explain everything I had been through, but he also carefully walked me through each of my medications, ensuring I understood their purpose. He patiently demonstrated how to inject insulin and provided invaluable information on how diabetes contributed to my heart issues. His commitment to patient education gave me a clearer understanding of my health moving forward.
Beyond his medical expertise, Scott’s kindness and attentiveness made all the difference. He ensured I had clean bed sheets, encouraged me to bathe, and even took the time to give me a shave. Small but meaningful acts of care that greatly improved my comfort during my five-night stay. His ability to connect on a personal level and his unwavering patience made my experience so much easier.
While Scott was truly exceptional, I also want to recognize Heather, Riley, and Ryker for their outstanding teamwork and support. They each contributed to my care with the same level of dedication, kindness, and professionalism. Their collective efforts created an environment where I felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared for.
Scott and the entire team deserve the highest recognition for their hard work and compassion. Their commitment to their patients does not go unnoticed, and I believe they are more than deserving of praise, awards, or any form of recognition for their exceptional service. Thank you, Scott, Heather, Riley, and Ryker, for making such a positive impact on my life. I am deeply grateful."

DAISY Recipient: Amy Mantz
Department: Labor and Delivery
Nominated by: Patient, Celinne Ramirez
Celinne Ramirez: “On March 12 I checked in for an elective induction at 39 weeks pregnant. As a first-time mother, someone who is terrified of hospitals and a military member I was very anxious about the amount of support I’d have going into labor and giving birth. On March 13 after already being 24 hours into the induction process, the labor and delivery department had another patient that needed immediate attention.
At 7 p.m. we got nurse Amy assigned to us, and she was heaven sent. She made my husband, my mom and most importantly myself feel heard and understood. She was very patient with all our questions and seemed like she knew what was going to happen before it did. It was smooth sailing as soon as she arrived, and it was amazing. She said at the beginning of her shift that her goal was for my baby to be born, and she definitely made that happen.
After spending 41 hours in labor and delivery our baby girl was born at 3:56 a.m. and we fully believe I wouldn't have been able to do it without her. She is someone my family will never forget, and we truly believe she was a blessing. I had a great birthing experience, and I owe it to nurse Amy.”
