Adventist Health Glendale Celebrates GI Director for Prestigious National Award

Adventist Health Glendale is proud to congratulate Dr. James Tabibian, Director of its Advanced Gastroenterology Center, on receiving the 2025 Distinguished Educator Award from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the global leader in advancing the field of GI endoscopy.

The Distinguished Educator Award is among the highest honors presented by ASGE, recognizing physicians who have made exceptional contributions to GI endoscopy education and clinical innovation. Dr. Tabibian was selected for his leadership, teaching excellence, and unwavering commitment to improving patient outcomes through advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.

Since joining Adventist Health Glendale in 2023, Dr. Tabibian has helped lead efforts to expand access to advanced interventional procedures for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. Under his direction, the hospital’s Advanced Gastroenterology Center has introduced state-of-the-art technologies and minimally invasive approaches, positioning the 515-bed tertiary care hospital as a regional leader in digestive health.

“Dr. Tabibian is well deserving of this distinguished recognition. His accomplishments, expertise, and passion for helping others have had a tremendous impact on advancing the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy. We are proud to celebrate this milestone moment with Dr. Tabibian,” shared Alice Issai, President of the Adventist Health Glendale and Simi Valley Service Area.

Dr. Tabibian was formally recognized at the ASGE’s Crystal Awards gala on Sunday, May 4, where leaders in the field gathered to celebrate achievements shaping the future of GI medicine.
