Breastfeeding Basics

This class is designed to provide new and expectant parents with essential information and practical guidance on breastfeeding. 

What you’ll learn:

  • The benefits of breastfeeding for both baby and mom
  • How to properly latch and position your baby for comfortable feeding
  • Recognizing your baby’s hunger cues and feeding patterns
  • Common challenges and how to overcome them (e.g., sore nipples, milk supply concerns)
  • Tips on maintaining milk supply and establishing a feeding routine
  • How to pump and store breast milk safely
  • Understanding when and how to seek help from lactation consultants

Who should attend:

  • Expectant parents preparing for breastfeeding
  • New parents who want to strengthen their breastfeeding skills
  • Caregivers and family members who want to support breastfeeding moms

Format: The class typically includes a mix of presentations, demonstrations, and Q&A to ensure you leave with practical knowledge and confidence.

Cost is $20. Partner included, no separate registration necessary.

This class is suggested for women 36+ weeks pregnant. It is highly encouraged for our families to also attend a Childbirth class and Birth Center Tour prior to delivery in order to maximize your birthing experience.
