Breastfeeding Basics
This class is designed to provide new and expectant parents with essential information and practical guidance on breastfeeding.
What you’ll learn:
- The benefits of breastfeeding for both baby and mom
- How to properly latch and position your baby for comfortable feeding
- Recognizing your baby’s hunger cues and feeding patterns
- Common challenges and how to overcome them (e.g., sore nipples, milk supply concerns)
- Tips on maintaining milk supply and establishing a feeding routine
- How to pump and store breast milk safely
- Understanding when and how to seek help from lactation consultants
Who should attend:
- Expectant parents preparing for breastfeeding
- New parents who want to strengthen their breastfeeding skills
- Caregivers and family members who want to support breastfeeding moms
Format: The class typically includes a mix of presentations, demonstrations, and Q&A to ensure you leave with practical knowledge and confidence.
Cost is $20. Partner included, no separate registration necessary.
This class is suggested for women 36+ weeks pregnant. It is highly encouraged for our families to also attend a Childbirth class and Birth Center Tour prior to delivery in order to maximize your birthing experience.
