Gastroenterology Fellowship Program

Adventist Health Central California Network will soon launch a new Gastroenterology (GI) Fellowship Program, as part of its Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program.

About the Fellowship Program

The GI Fellowship Program is designed for highly motivated physicians who have completed an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program and are now seeking advanced, high-quality subspecialty training while making a meaningful impact in underserved and diverse communities.

Central California faces a critical shortage of physicians, particularly in primary care and gastroenterology. While primary care remains the greatest need, gastroenterology represents the largest specialty deficit among specialties across the region.

For fellows, this creates a rare opportunity: advanced training within a robust, community-based health system where your work directly expands access to GI care. Program overview

• Training Environment: Hospital-based inpatient care, outpatient specialty clinics, ambulatory surgical, and endoscopy centers

Expert faculty and mentorship

Fellows will be trained by board-certified gastroenterologists who are currently practicing at Adventist Health Central California Network. These physicians serve as attending physicians, faculty, and mentors — bringing deep clinical expertise, academic experience and a strong commitment to teaching the next generation of specialists. The program also consists of a designated institution official, a dedicated program director, and a fellowship coordinator.
