Adventist Health Delano Receives Superior Maternity Rating

Adventist Health Delano has been recognized for superior performance on the 2025 California Maternity Care Honor Roll by Cal Hospital Compare and the California Health and Human Services Agency. This distinction reflects excellence across all key maternity care indicators in the state.

The superior performance designation is awarded to hospitals that meet or exceed performance standards on all five maternal health metrics in California’s new maternity care composite measure. The measures help ensure mothers and babies receive safe, evidence-based care that supports the healthiest possible birth. Lower C-section and episiotomy rates reduce unnecessary interventions and help moms recover more quickly, while low infection rates reflect safer surgical care when a C-section is needed. Supporting vaginal birth after a prior C-section, when appropriate, gives families more options and can lower risks in future pregnancies. Avoiding early elective deliveries before 39 weeks helps babies fully develop, reducing complications and the need for intensive care after birth.

The 2025 Honor Roll reflects the Adventist Health Delano team’s commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered maternity care and supporting safe birth outcomes for families across the Central Valley. Out of nearly 200 participating hospitals statewide, fewer than one-third attained this composite performance achievement.
